RULES & EXPECTATIONS

Class will start at the scheduled time. If you are late, you are expected to wait until the exercise in progress has stopped, apologize to your teacher, and ask if you can join class or if you should observe that lesson, taking notes on what is being taught

Entering class late is a distraction to everyone else, impedes your progress, and invites injury as you have missed essential preliminary exercises

Respect your teacher, your parents, and the entire staff at the CIFA Institute and Cabin John Ice Rink

Greet your teacher or anyone one of the staff first (before they greet you)

Be polite (Say "Please", "Thank you", and "May I?")

Respect each other

Help each other
-
Be kind to one another

Support each other
-
Do not talk behind each other's backs

BULLYING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

Work hard in class and do your absolute best

No talking amongst each other in class!

Listen to your teacher closely

Remember: "Everybody is different and every body is different!!!"

Be honest!

Come to class early and be prepared!

Wear proper ballet attire

Hair in a bun

Pointe shoes and soft ballet shoes neatly taken care of

Have your homework done
-
Have your combinations for class and your dance parts memorized

Let your teacher know about any injury or illness before class
-
Let your teacher know about any absence in advance
-
Ask questions related to the class during the class and all other questions - after class
-
Work on your corrections outside of class as well as during class
-
NO FOOD may be consumed by students in the classroom

NO GUM

Use the bathroom before class!
PROPER ATTIRE AND GROOMING
Each student should be properly dressed:

Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled away from the face and worn NEATLY IN A BUN. (Small bows or ornaments are allowed.)

Boys: White tight dance t-shirt. Black shorts, leggings, or black tights. White socks and white ballet shoes. NEAT HAIR CUT

A student taking tap needs black tap shoes WITH A SECURE BUCKLE
-
No jewelry of any kind (stud earrings are acceptable)
-
Personal belongings should be kept in a dance bag and placed in the corner of the room
